Manychat Raises $140 Million to Supercharge Its AI Messaging Platform

Manychat Secures $140M to Enhance AI-Powered Business Messaging Platform

Manychat, the business messaging automation platform known for its presence across Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, TikTok, and Telegram, has secured $140 million in Series B funding led by Summit Partners. The capital injection marks a pivotal moment for the company as it accelerates its AI innovation and global expansion plans.

Founded in 2015, Manychat has become a go-to tool for more than 1.5 million users across 170 countries, helping businesses automate personalized, high-volume communications to drive conversions. Its user base spans from global giants like Nike and The New York Times to small businesses and solo creators.

💬 AI-Powered Conversations at Scale

CEO and co-founder Mike Yan says Manychat is already responsible for sending billions of automated messages annually, enabling businesses to engage customers seamlessly across platforms.

“We’re not just building another chatbot. Our platform is focused on helping businesses actually grow through meaningful customer interactions,” said Yan.

Manychat’s platform integrates with tools like Shopify, HubSpot, and Zapier, making it a powerful backend automation engine for social commerce and customer support.

📈 From Bootstrapped Beginnings to AI Frontier

This new round brings the company’s total funding to $163 million, following a $18 million Series A in 2019 led by Bessemer Venture Partners. Though Manychat hasn’t disclosed its current valuation, it is believed to be significantly higher than its previous $58 million post-money mark.

The company will use the funds to:

  • Expand R&D teams focused on AI integrations
  • Grow global sales and marketing efforts
  • Invest in customer support infrastructure
  • Extend the platform’s reach across emerging messaging apps

🌍 Riding the Wave of Messaging-First Commerce

As consumer behavior shifts away from traditional apps toward conversational commerce, Manychat is strategically positioned to capitalize on the AI messaging boom. Its omnichannel approach enables brands to automate and personalize interactions at scale, something more generic chatbot providers often struggle with.

While competition is rising from startups and enterprise platforms alike, Manychat differentiates by remaining laser-focused on measurable business outcomes through conversational engagement.
